EVERETT V EVERYBODY 12W-3L

/

Over the past few years I have got to see Coach Chris and Coach Joe in action with Everett Boys Basketball. I sat on the sidelines capturing moments for my godson Thai Spencer but then became invested in everyone on the team. The boys all have grown up (still growing up) with each other so it is fun to watch how they all progress as players and friends.

My first experience with Coach Joe was like โ€œIs this man really coaching with his babyโ€โ€ฆand He was! Literally baby Willow was in his arms, being changed during games and/or her walking around with a clipboard being Jr. Coach.

I hit up Coach Chris checking in and he said there was a game happening at Malden High to determine if they go to the playoffs. I pulled up with my camera and got right into action capturing the moments leading to their now 2025 Championship. Final Score 85-73; they ended with a season record of 12 Wins and 3 Losses.

Michael “Mikey” Walsh aka Baby Pritchard as I call him is a sharpshooter! He is sinking threes from anywhere on the court, attacks the lane when he sees an opening, his court vision is immaculate and excels at reading plays. Size doesn’t matter because he is snatching rebounds, and converting fast-break opportunities into quick layups and landing himself at the free throw line.

Saturday, the team traveled to Mass Premiere Courts in Foxborough for the Final Four and battled Needham to get to the Championshops. It was intense, parents were sitting on the court biting their nails. With 34:2 on the clock score was 57-55.

Sam (11) โ€œSammyโ€ as everyone yells on the court has always shown great skill but his improvement in ball handling has been immaculate. As he continues to work on his ball handling; letโ€™s focus on his shot selections. I donโ€™t even know what to call the move he did but he did it!

Jacob (21) has improved quite tremendously; he makes sure he is there to get all the rebounds and has been 50% FT. When you hear him he is so chill but can tell someone has been training him on the off seasons. โ€œWhat you put in, is what you will get out!โ€

Sunday, the team came back and defeated Milton. The score was close, the game was intense, The crowd was filled with Milton supporters but that didnโ€™t stop Everett bench from cheering and the parents who were there making the loudest noise possible doubling Miltons. At third quarter the game was tied 27-27.

All Smiles for 2025 MA State Championships

Coach Chris and Joe has put together an immaculate team of all-stars who cherish the games of basketball. Outside looking in if you see a coach yelling at their player it can be one of two things โ€œThey made a mistake or they werenโ€™t listeningโ€; and I will be a witness sometimes our youngsters get distracted but Coaches reel them back in.
