Boston Calling was definitely one for the books. There’s so much happening at the festival beyond the performances ! For instance, did you know that artists can get a fresh haircut while at the event? If you need to freshen up, they’ve got trailers set up just for that! It’s an entirely different world behind the scenes as artists navigate the live entertainment and excitement of Boston Calling. I was lucky enough to experience the behind the scenes back-to-back in 2023 and 2024, and both years were an absolute blast.
I was really pumped about the Orange Stage, especially since it was dedicated to local artists. We had the chance to see some amazing talent, including Justin Clancy and Billy Dean. And of course, the one and only WhySham DJ’d for CakeSwagg, because, well, #WhyNot? The energy was electric, and Four Star Dance Academy really brought it! Seeing there growth has been one to watch and so should you! Tori Tori held down the Blue Stage and wow’d the crowd with her voice. She has definitely stepped into her own lane and holding down the R&B Ladies of MA and Beyond.
Let’s Talk About Her… Megan Thee Stallion absolutely shut it down at Boston Calling. She performed effortlessly alongside her incredible dancers, bringing an unmatched energy to the stage. Kaleisha from Four Star Dance Academy even introduced us to Megan’s dancers, who were all incredibly welcoming and down-to-earth.
And then there was Hozier… I literally ran from one side of Boston Calling to the other just to catch his set. I’ve been a huge fan of his music for years, and his voice? Beyond amazing. His backup singers were like angels, harmonizing beautifully with him, and together they created a performance that was nothing short of mesmerizing.
