BAMS Fest is always a treat for family and friends each summer. This year, I missed Rapsody but I got to see BJ The Chicago Kid. My first time hearing BJ was on a SchoolBoy Q track, and I thought, This man’s voice is fire.
Fast forward, I arrive at BAMS Fest just before his set, and he definitely did the damn thing. I was more upset, though, because he made me cry when he started dropping some serious wisdom on the crowd.
